Statement of Faith

What We Believe

Inspiration of the Scripture

We believe that the Bible, the Old Testament and the New Testament is the Inspired and only Infallible and Authoritative written Word of God (II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:20-21; I Peter 1:23).

We believe man was created by the special act of God, as recorded in Genesis.  “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them; and the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 1:27 and 2:7).

We believe in the Godhead or Trinity. There is one God manifested in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 3:16-17).

The Way of Salvation

We believe man in his natural state is a sinner, lost, undone, without hope, and without God (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1 and 12; Galatians 3:2). We believe man’s first step toward salvation is a Godly sorrow that worketh repentance and that a person must repent of his sins, confess with his mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in his heart that God hat raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved ( II Corinthians 7:10; Romans 10:9). We believe salvation is the gift of God to man, separated from the works and the law, but is made operative by Grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Justification

We believe justification is God’s gracious and full acquittal upon principles of righteousness of all sinners who believe in Jesus Christ.  We believe in the saving power of the Blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness (Ephesians 1:7; Romans 5:9; I Peter 1:18-19). This blessing is bestowed, not in consideration of any works of righteousness, which we have done, but through the redemption that is in and through Jesus Christ.  It brings us into a state of the most blessed peace and favor with God, and secures every other needed blessing.

Grace in Regeneration

We believe the regeneration or the new birth is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit.  It is a work of God’s free grace condition upon faith in Jesus Christ and made manifest by the fruit, which we bring forth to the glory of God.

Sanctification

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire. The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity whose purpose in the redemption of man is to convict man of sin, regenerate the repentant believer, guide the believer into All truth, indwell and give gifts to believers for the manifestation of the Spirit as He wills.

We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, is for all cleansed believers (Matthew 3:11; Luke 11:13; St. John 16:7-14; Acts 2:4 and 39; Acts 10:44-47; I Corinthians 12:8-11).

A Gospel Church

We believe “The Church” is the Body of Christ, with Jesus Christ being the head. Its earthly Messengers are men and women born of the Spirit, living Holy lives. We believe the Church is delegated the various gifts and offices of the Holy Spirit, necessary for the successful fulfillment of Jesus Christ’s Great Commission (I Corinthians 12:1-10; Ephesians 1:22 and 5:23; Colossians 1:18; Mark 16:15-20; Matthew 28:19-20).

We believe that upon the confession of a person’s faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we recommend water baptism by immersion in The Name of The Father, and The Son, and of The Holy Ghost. This is an outward symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Matthew 3:16-17; Colossians 2:12). We believe in taking Communion or The Lord’s Supper as a commandment of our Savior, and being a memorial of His death until He comes (I Corinthians 11:24-30).

We believe in Divine Healing and that Divine Healing was provided for us in the Blood Atonement; however, God uses doctors, medicines, and other natural means for healing. We believe in the prayer of faith, anointing with oil, and laying on of hands by the elders and believers (Isaiah 53:5; James 5:14-16; Mark 11:23 and 16:17-18).

Stewardship

We believe that all believers should pay Tithes and Offerings into the Local Church (Malachi 3:8-11; Leviticus 27:30 and Proverbs 3:9). We believe God is “The Source” of all blessings, temporal, and spiritual, all that we have and are we owe to Him.  We have a spiritual debtorship to the whole world, a holy trusteeship in the Gospel, and a binding stewardship in our possessions.  We are, therefore, under obligation to serve Him with our time, talents, and material possessions.

The Resurrection

We believe the Scriptures clearly teach that Jesus rose from the dead.  His grave was emptied of its contents.  He appeared to the disciples after His resurrection in many convincing manifestations.  He now exists in His glorified body at God’s right hand.  There will be a resurrection of the righteous and the wicked.  The bodies of the righteous will conform to the glorious spiritual body of Jesus Christ.

The Return of the Lord

We believe in the New Testament teachings in many places where the visible and personal return of Jesus Christ to this earth.  “This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven (Acts 1:11) shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.”  The time of His coming is not revealed.  “Of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven; but my Father only (Matthew 24:36).”  It is the duty of all believers to live in readiness for His coming and be diligent in good works to make manifest to all men the reality and power of their hope in Christ.
